 I have always loved to bake and I have always loved to eat cake since I was a little girl. In 2005 I decided to start formal training and took my first course. It changed my life - learning from expert specialty bakers helped me know that this is what I wanted to do. Since attending my first course, I've earned advanced baking certificates and baked many cakes.
In 2009, I opened my Licensed and Inspected kitchen. I began baking cakes for friends and family, cakes for birthdays, graduations, retirements and then weddings! I have entered many contests and Bake Offs since then and am always eager and excited to learn the new and upcoming designs and techniques.
My cakes, cupcakes, icings, fillings and other treats are all homemade and since I am the owner of Cakes by Ellie, each cake gets my special attention to every detail. My most requested cake flavor is Wedding White followed by Double Chocolate Chip. There are so many fillings it is hard to suggest what the favorite is. Classic Butter cream, Chocolate Truffle or Brown Sugar Bourbon Butter Cream certainly top the list.
